• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Makatini Fm, which is regionally overlain by the Mzinene Fm. THICKNESS: From a 1 m bed within ~30 m section. AGE: Barremian 1 based on ammonite biostratigraphy (Acroceras zone). STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From siltstone bed near the middle of the section, immediately above the top of the river cliff.
