Where: Xinjiang, China (44.2° N, 88.0° E: paleocoordinates 51.0° N, 92.5° E)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Kelamayi Formation, Middle Triassic to Middle Triassic (247.2 - 201.4 Ma)
• Originally reported as Late Triassic; however, as discussed by Lucas & Hunt (1993), this was based upon misidentification of dicynodont material as aetosaur. Lucas & Hunt (1993) clarify that this material is from the upper part of the Kelamayi (= Karamay) Formation, immediately above a definite Middle Triassic fauna. The age is therefore uncertain, but listed here as Middle-Late Triassic
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: terrestrial; lithology not reported
Size class: macrofossils
Reposited in the IVPP
