Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; lithified, calcareous mudstone

• The rocks containing this community are calcareous mudstone and siltstone and wackestones with a high proportion of clay and noncalcaroues silt. The community is sometimes found in coarser grained muddy sandstone and packstone. The sediments are thin bedded and sometimes laminated.
