Below Montezuman/Dyeran proposed stratotype, Nevada - Hollingsworth 1999 (Cambrian to of the United States)

Where: Esmeralda County, Nevada (37.8° N, 117.3° W: paleocoordinates 3.5° S, 96.8° W)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: middle Member (Poleta Formation), Montezuman to Montezuman (520.0 - 516.0 Ma)

• depostied above storm wave base.

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: lithified, gray, calcareous siltstone and lithified, shelly/skeletal limestone

• light olive gray shaly siltstone with beds of laminated fine sandstone (5-35%), sometimes calcareous and occasionally occurring in hummocky crossbedded lenses and gutter casts. Cream colored bioclastic limestone in 1-7cm thick layers and occassionally as gutter fillings, make up 5-40% of the interval. Many of the bioclastic layers contain tubular fossils.

Preservation: trace

Collection methods: bulk,

• Most of the trilobites are found as broken sclerites in thin bioclastic limestone, but intact cephala are occasionally found in the shaly siltstone.
