Emigrant Pass. Bristolia mohavensis zonule (Cambrian of the United States)

Also known as Bristolia mohavensis zonule, CA - Fowler 1999

Where: Inyo County, California (35.8° N, 116.2° W: paleocoordinates 1.8° S, 97.0° W)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Bristolia mohavensis trilobite zone, Echo/Eagle Shale Member (Carrara Formation), Dyeran (515.3 - 511.2 Ma)

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: transition zone or lower shoreface; lithified shale

• thin bedded micaceous siltstone with shale nad sandstone beds near the middle.

Size class: macrofossils

Collection methods: Specimens from this site are split into an informal zonation. The zonation utilizes both acme and occurrence zonules, and subdivides some zonules into numbered subunits based on clearly distinguishable assemblages. However, relative species abundances, although reflected to some extent in the biostratigraphic zonation, are not listed. Only trilobites are included in the faunal list. The zonule name will be listed in the Zone datafield.
