Where: British Columbia, Canada (50.4° N, 127.6° W: paleocoordinates 0.7° S, 123.5° W)
• coordinate estimated from map
• small collection-level geographic resolution
When: Parson Bay Formation, Rhaetian (208.5 - 201.3 Ma)
• Conodont dating of the Yreka outcrop was completed by M.J. Orchard (Nixon et al. 2011a) in a locality outcropping below the one containing the wallowaconchid fossils indicated as Rhaetian in age. In addition, there also are a few absolute dates from within the Yreka section. The Re–Os dating (determined by R.A. Creasor) shows the outcrop to be 202.4 (±1.7) Ma and detrital zircon (determined by R.M. Friedman) provided a date of 206–212 (±2) Ma. Since the fossils at the Yreka locality (Nixon and Orr 2007; Nixon et al. 2011a) of northern Vancouver Island belong to the upper part of the Parson Bay “Sutton Limestone”, the wallowaconchid specimens are most likely Rhaetian in age.
