Environment/lithology: marine; calcareous siltstone

• Shale, clayey to silty, calcareous shale in upper part contains pelecypods 2.8 ft from top; minute fossil fragments that are very likely ostracodes; very calcareous zone in the uppermost part overlies 0.4 ft bed of coal; a marl zone 1.0ft thick is present 5.3 ft below coal bed
