Environment/lithology: slope; lithified sandstone

• The bivalve yielding Member B1 consists of conglomerate,

•sandstone, mudstone, limestone and alternating beds of

•sandstone and mudstone. The conglomerate contains chert,

•shale and granite pebbles. The medium grained poorly sorted

•sandstone beds contain coaly inclusions and abundant nonmarine

•and marine mollusks. Limestone beds are ooliticpeloidal

•and bioclastic grainstones (Morino, 1993). This unit

•is approximately 170 m thick.
