Where: Mendoza, Argentina (37.2° S, 68.9° W: paleocoordinates 54.9° S, 35.9° W)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• small collection-level geographic resolution
When: Cerro de Las Cabras Formation (Uspallata Group), Ladinian to Ladinian (242.0 - 228.0 Ma)
• In the original report of the locality, Rusconi (1957) termed the level as 'Horizonte Bayenese', which is an informal geologic unit. It has been interpreted as part of the Late Triassic (Norian) Cacheuta Formation by Stipanicic et al. (2002). Because the Cacheuta Formation has not been mapped for the area of Cerro Bayo, López-Arbarello et al. (2010) infer that the 'Horizone Bayanese' belongs to the Cerro de las Cabras Formation, which has been mapped for the area and which's age is in accordance with the fish assemblage from the 'Horizonte Bayense'.
