Environment/lithology: deep subtidal; lithified limestone

• The lenticular units of the Montgomery Limestone were probably initially deposited in warm, shallow, normal marine water, in a low-energy forearc-forearc ridge environment prior to sliding down slope and becoming incorporated in a mélange.
