Environment/lithology: coastal; sandstone and gravel

• at north end banks of pebbles 3 m thick, mixed with shell and resting on the grey clay of the vlei-bottom; the crest is not exposed and the ridge may be a storm-ridge. The numerous pebbles suggest an old river-mouth.
