• Chiappe (1991) notes that "The Bajo de la Carpa Member yielded several other remains of continental vertebrates such as notosuchian crocodiles, dynilisid ophidians, and small theropod dinosaurs (Bonaparte, 1987)". Alvarezsaurus found by J. Calvo in May 1987.
•Chiappe (1991) also notes that the collection includes a nearly complete skeleton and partial skeleton of a then unpublished cursorial flightless bird (later named Patagopteryx deferrariisi by Alvarenga and Bonaparte, 1992) and a complete, articulated skeleton of a then unpublished enantiornithine bird (later named Neuquenornis volans by Chiappe and Calvo, 1994).
