Upper quarry (southwest side), Doumont Road (Cretaceous of Canada)

Where: British Columbia, Canada (49.2° N, 124.1° W: paleocoordinates 52.9° N, 90.0° W)

• coordinate stated in text

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Eubostrychoceras elongatum ammonoid zone, Haslam Formation, Late/Upper Santonian (85.8 - 83.5 Ma)

• The assemblage found at the quarry is strongly suggestive of the uppermost part of the Eubostrychoceras elongatum Zone, particularly the Eupachydiscus haradai Subzone. Trigonometric calculations show that the Doumont Road Upper Quarry locality is approximately 30 m stratigraphically below the Lower Quarry found down-slope to the east; the latter has produced the early Campanian form Pseudoschloenbachia umbulazi (Baily, 1855).

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: coastal; lithified siliciclastic sediments

Size class: macrofossils
