Köveskal Borehole Kk-9, Sample 18 (Triassic of Hungary)

Where: Hungary (46.9° N, 17.6° E: paleocoordinates 0.3° N, 29.8° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Upper Member (Csopak Marl Formation), Spathian (251.3 - 247.2 Ma)

• The Csopak Marl at the Hidegkut outcrop locality contains Spathian ammonoids (Tirolites, Dalmatites) throughout the section. Although the borehole samples do not have those biostratigraphic markers, a Spathian age is assigned.

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: lagoonal or restricted shallow subtidal; bioturbated, fine-grained, gray, green, calcareous marl and silty marl

• lagoonal, pertidal dolomite complex.
• The prevailing rock type is calcareous marl, with alternations of argillaceous darker and lighter layers, both layers with some bioclastic limestone intercalations.

Size classes: macrofossils, microfossils

Collection methods: bulk,
