Patrocardia-Dualina Community in the Prague Basin (Silurian of Czech Republic)

Where: Czech Republic (49.9° N, 14.2° E: paleocoordinates 49.0° S, 55.3° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Monograptus transgrediens zone, Pridoli (423.0 - 419.2 Ma)

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; gray lime mudstone and shelly/skeletal, gray limestone

• Mostly epibyssate forms, also many infaunal. "The Community lived in the subtidal, shallow water environment below wave base. The bottom was influenced by low current activity favorable for epibyssate forms. "
• "Disarticulated shells are abundant in the biomicritic to biodetrital gray limestone..."

Collection methods: Life mode and abundance of bivalves given (table 16.19). Only bivalves explicitly said to occur at type locality, but text suggests other elements present as well.
