When: Abu Roash Formation, Turonian (93.9 - 89.8 Ma)

Environment/lithology: transition zone or lower shoreface; lithified, calcareous limestone and lithified, calcareous shale

• Represented by the lower part, which could be attributed to the G, F and E Members. Generally, it consists of limestone, shaly limestone and shale interbeds. The age of the Abu Roash "G" Member is late Cenomanian (Hantar, 1990; E1-Shamma and Arafa, 1992; Schrank and Ibrahim, 1995), while the F and E Members are of Turonian age (Hantar, 1990).
