• The entire succession at the fossil site belongs to the

•Yiliekede Formation, which is the upper most of the three

•formations of the Xinganling Group (Li et al., 2007; Figure

•1). The geologic age of the fossiliferous unit has been dated

•within the Aptian (119 +- 1 Ma) and correlated to the

•Jiufotang Formation in West Liaoning
