Environment/lithology: deep subtidal; quartzite and shale

• Massive quartzite that has several thin interbeds of shale very rich in graptolites. The Phi Kappa appears to be thicker in the lower plate of the Park Creek thrust than in the upper plate and has conspicuous quartzite that is characterized by distinctive banding.
