•The exact age of the holotype specimen of M. gaudini is still unknown; but nevertheless, this holotype is most likely as old as, or even older than the Aquitanian. Hence, N. gaudini is most likely older than Afrophoca libyca, known from the Burdigalian of Libya [36]. (Dewaele et al 2018).
