Arrowie Syncline, Moro section, sample 1081.0 offset (Cambrian of Australia)

Where: South Australia, Australia (30.7° S, 139.2° E: paleocoordinates 17.4° N, 161.2° W)

• coordinate stated in text

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Wirrapowie Limestone Formation, Atdabanian (521.0 - 516.0 Ma)

• Cambrian Series 2, Stage 3

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: lagoonal or restricted shallow subtidal; limestone

• 139 m thick in the Moro section and is characterised by fine-grained ribbon limestones, interpreted to have been deposited in a sheltered lagoonal environment. The lack of cross-beds, desiccation mudcracks or detrital material suggests that this environment remained mostly submerged and stable

Size class: macrofossils
