Where: La Guajira, Colombia (12.0° N, 71.4° W: paleocoordinates 11.2° N, 68.1° W)
• coordinate based on unpublished field data
• small collection-level geographic resolution
When: Uipta Formation, Burdigalian (20.4 - 16.0 Ma)
• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Uipta Formation, which unconformably overlies the Siamana Formation (late Oligocene-early Miocene) and is conformably overlain by the Jimol Formation (early-middle Miocene). AGE: Burdigalian, on the basis of stratigraphic position and constrained by Sr-isotope dating of enterer; while the formation is probably Aquitanian-Burdigalian, the collection is placed in the Burdigalian on the basis of stratigraphic position. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From the uppermost part of Uipta Fm, not far below above base of Jimol Formation.
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: offshore; poorly lithified mudstone
Size class: macrofossils
Preservation: original aragonite, original calcite
Collected by Hendy in 2013
