When: Gunn Member (Stony Mountain Formation), Richmondian (449.6 - 445.5 Ma)
• On the basis of conodonts, Ethington and Furnish (1960) correlated the lower Stony Mountain Formation to the upper part of the Bighorn Formation of Wyoming, the upper part of the Maquoketa Formation oflowa, and the Vaureal Formation of Anticosti Island, Quebec. Although these authors suggested a Maysvillian to early Richmondian age for this suite of strata, it is now widely accepted that these stratigraphic units are largely mid-late Richmondian in age.
