Where: Japan (43.3° N, 142.0° E: paleocoordinates 50.3° N, 133.7° E)
• coordinate estimated from map
• hand sample-level geographic resolution
When: Inoceramus uwajimensis inoceramid zone, Yezo Group, Late/Upper Coniacian (89.3 - 85.8 Ma)
• Probably derived from the Member U2, the lower part of the Upper Yezo Group. In the same nodule Scaphites pseudoequalis and I. cf. uwajimensis were contained abundantly. Thus, the age is probably early to middle (?) Coniacian. PJW: Inoceramus uwajimensis (= Inoceramus undabundus) zone is equivalent to the Inoceramus stantoni elsewhere, which is Late Coniacian.
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: marine; lithified, nodular siliciclastic sediments
Size class: macrofossils
