Environment/lithology: marine; calcareous claystone and ooidal, argillaceous limestone

• "The Sillaoru Formation is about 85 cm thick, the Nikolskoe Member constituting some 65 cm of the formation. Furthermore, here, both the base and the top of the member are marked by purple phosphatized hardground surfaces.

•It consists of calcareous clay with highly argillaceous limestone with numerous iron ooliths. The carbonates are heavily bioturbated, penetrated often by Skolithos burrows together with Trypanites type borings.", in Rasmussen & Harper (2008)
