Where: Shoshone County, Idaho (47.0° N, 116.3° W: paleocoordinates 46.9° N, 111.3° W)
• coordinate estimated from map
When: Latah Formation, Barstovian (16.3 - 12.5 Ma)
• immediately below ash layer correlated with an ash from the Bully Creek Formation dated to 15.65+/- 0.07 Ma. Basalt dam the created lake is esimated to have been emplaced ~16 Ma; site interpreted as early Barstovian. Is from same section that has produced plant and fish fossils, but appears to be from a different bed.
