The Toarcian in the Subbetic Basin-Colomera Section: Bed Co1 (Jurassic of Spain)

Where: Granda, Spain (37.4° N, 3.7° W: paleocoordinates 26.2° N, 5.5° E)

When: Emaciatum ammonoid zone, Subbetic Basin Formation, Late/Upper Pliensbachian (189.6 - 183.0 Ma)

• Bed depth: 25m

Environment/lithology: basinal (); lithified limestone

• The section analysed is ~106.5 m thick and includes uppermost Pliensbachian–Middle Toarcian interval. The lowest ~31 m consist of white-grey limestone and grey marl intercalations with abundant ammonites. The rest of the section consists mainly of marls with alternations of marly limestones, grey-blue to greenish in colour.
