When: Aalensis ammonoid zone, Subbetic Basin Formation, Late/Upper Toarcian (180.1 - 175.6 Ma)

• Bed depth: 37.9m

Environment/lithology: basinal (); lithified limestone

• This section is located on the right bank of the Guadahortuna River, 250 m south of the “El Peñón” farm. Toarcian sediments, ~39 m thick, consist of well-bedded regular alternations of hemipelagic marls and marly limestones.
