When: Thouarsense ammonoid zone, Subbetic Basin Formation, Late/Upper Toarcian (180.4 - 174.7 Ma)

Environment/lithology: basinal (); lithified limestone

• This section is located on the right bank of the Guadahortuna River, 250 m south of the “El Peñón” farm. Toarcian sediments, ~39 m thick, consist of well-bedded regular alternations of hemipelagic marls and marly limestones.
