Tejra Quarry, Medenine, Unit 3 (Triassic of Tunisia)

Where: Tunisia (33.4° N, 10.4° E: paleocoordinates 3.0° S, 15.2° E)

• coordinate estimated from map

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Kirchaou Formation, Fassanian (242.0 - 235.0 Ma)

• Compared to the local Kirchaou Formation (Soussi et al. 2017)

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marginal marine; claystone and sandstone

• "The third unit (Unit 3) is about 30 thick. It is composed mainly of reddish-brownish siltstones and claystones. Fossils of this unit are mainly represented by conchostracans, lingulids, and a horseshoe crab. It is worth noting the presence of a sandstone marker bed in the middle part of this unit showing bears numerous invertebrate trace fossils at its base." (Soussi et al. 2017)
