• Estancia La Costa. The outlying stratigraphic column in the area near Estancia La Costa was previously described (Tauber, 1996), when 5 fossiliferous levels were defined (NF 1, 2, 2.1, 3 and 4). These levels are found in a succession of clays and tuffs interspersed and exposed in the intra-tidal zone and at the base of the cliff. The first stratigraphic level of this succession is a solid gray-green clay with small sub-spherical and irregular calcareous concretions, and frequent pedotubules of reduced caliber, which forms the fossiliferous level 1. From this layer comes one of the materials assigned to Necrolestes patagonensis.

Size class: macrofossils
