• Interpreted as Pliocene clay lens in older Pleistocene river terrace deposits, by Rietschel (1983). Quaternary fluvial terrace deposits dated by paleomagnetism as latest Calabrian-Middle Pleistocene by Semmel & Fromm (1976). Flora-bearing clay beds in the Frankfurt area dated as Reuverian on the basis of palynology, by Kvacek et al. (2019).
