• More recent conodont studies from the "Orthoceras limestones" of NW Africa suggest a Ludfordian or Pridoli age for the unit.

• Somewhat porous tan to brownish gray fine calcarenite containing a few orthocones of moderate size

• Some specimens are dark in color, in contrast to the light amber bulk of the conodonts at both these localities. The difference may be merely the result of preservation, but it appears that a number of these species are found only among the anomalous dark portions of the faunas; they have been listed separately.
