• Unfortunately, few associated taxa are known from these beds, although T. Bullard noted a single in situ thecal plate of Marsupites less than 0.5 m stratigraphically above the youngest specimen of Eubostrychoceras elongatum at the upstream end of this interval of Haslam Creek, in the stratigraphically-lowest beds of the interval. The bivalves Sphenoceramus elegans and S. cf. orientalis are also noted continuously throughout this section, occasionally co-occurring with the crinoids. Thus, the stratigraphic interval exposed along 'Step Creek' can be assigned to the lower, Sphenoceramus elegans Subzone of the S. schmidti Zone, and the beds at along Haslam Creek to the south are likely assignable to this interval as well. The presence of Eubostrychoceras elongatum closely underlying the stratigraphically oldest specimens of Marsupites in the upper Haslam Creek section further supports the interpretation that these intervals along both Haslam Creek and Step Creek represent the lowest part of the Sphenoceramus elegans Subzone of the S. schmidti Zone.
