Where: Colombia (12.0° N, 71.4° W: paleocoordinates 10.9° N, 67.4° W)

• coordinate stated in text

When: Siamaná Formation, Aquitanian (23.0 - 20.4 Ma)

• presence Siderastrea siderea, Mimachlamys canalis and principally the large benthic foraminifera assemblages point to an early Miocene age

Environment/lithology: reef, buildup or bioherm; reef rocks

• mainly shallow-water marine carbonates deposited over the basement rocks of the Cocinas, Jarara, and Macuira paleoislands. Coral reefs grew fringing the paleoislands
• formation consists of conglomerates, sandstones, and fossiliferous limestones

Size classes: macrofossils, mesofossils
