• HC-783 occurs ~20 m below the upper formational contact with the overlying Fort Union Formation (visible in the cliffs above the microsite horizon), placing it in the lower part of the upper third of the Hell Creek Formation

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: fluvial; mudstone

• intraformational mudclast lag at the base of a grey mudstone
