Podolian Silurian eurypterids (Silurian of Ukraine)

Where: Khmelnitsky, Ukraine (48.6° N, 26.7° E: paleocoordinates 21.2° S, 7.5° E)

When: Ustye Formation (Yaruga Group), Ludlow (427.4 - 423.0 Ma)

• The stratigraphically studied locality belongs to the Ustye Formation, Bagovytsa Regional Stage “Horizon”, part of the Yaruga Group (Ludlow Stage, Upper Silurian; Selden and Drygant, 1987).

Environment/lithology: lagoonal or restricted shallow subtidal; lithified marl

• Occasionally there are levels with desiccation cracks, suggesting temporary drying

•up of some parts of the lagoonal bottom.
