When: Cardenas Formation, Maastrichtian (72.1 - 66.0 Ma)

• Overlying Formation: Tobaco Formation. Underlying Formation: Tamasopo Fotmation. (Schafhauser et al., 2003). Thickness in this location is 230 m (Vega et al., 1995a).

Environment/lithology: lagoonal; gray, green, blue shale and gray, green, blue mudstone

• The is similar to Locality IGM-2615, except it seems to be the shallow part of a marginal lagoon. (Vega et al., 1995a).
• Gray, green, and gray-blue mudstones and shales (the sediments are more arenaceous and the rocks tend to be grayish blue comnpared to other Cardenas Formation outcrops). Also, bioturbation seems to be scarce at this location. (Vega et al., 1995a).
