• Recently, updated isotopic dating at the type locality of the Xiaofengmidingzi Formation and other sites show that the zircon U-Pb age of the rhyolite in type locality is 192 ± 2 Ma (Early Jurassic), while the zircon U-Pb age of the andesite in other sites is 172 ± 1 Ma (Middle Jurassic).
