Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; black, gray limestone

• "Limestone, aphanitic, greyish black and dark grey, weathers light grey, light bluish grey, with buff stains, resistant, bedding 1 foot to 8 feet; calcite stringers and vugs common, rare black chert nodules, dolomitic mottles amount to 30% of some beds."
