Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; brown, gray, calcareous shale

• Gradual shallowing.
• "[L]ight brown, brownish grey, and grey soft shale, which may be slightly petroliferous and slightly calcareous, and contains a minor amount of black and blue shale, and thin beds of dark carbonaceous shale. Mud cracks are common."
