• coordinate based on political unit

• basin-level geographic resolution

When: Wenlock to Wenlock (433.4 - 423.0 Ma)

• Racine and Waukesha Formations in Wisconsin, Racine and ?Joliet Formations in Illinois.

Environment/lithology: sand shoal; dolomitic, pyritic, shelly/skeletal, cherty/siliceous wackestone and dolomitic, pyritic, shelly/skeletal, cherty/siliceous packstone

• "The community appears to have been subject to storm wvaes, but not constant currents. This BA 3 comm. is one of the more common Racine high dominance echinoderm thicket communities..often in association with other...mound associated communities"
• "Abundantly fossiliferous, with echinoderms (esp. camerate crinoids) overwhelmingly dominant both as whole fossils and as skeletal debris. All echinoderms are isolated calices or thecae that do not preserve the feeding appendages or stems. Pelmatozoan root systems occur sporadically throughout, sometimes forming locally dense aggregations on particular bedding surfaces. The lithology is inclined-bedded, porous to very porous, generally low-chert, low pyrite, echinoderm moldic to echinoderm-replaced dolowackestone to packstone, with rare grainstone noted also. The non-echinoderms are often articulated...Debris is generally in large pieces (0.3 mm), with plates whole and unabraded..."
