Adnet Eisenmann Quarry (Jurassic to of Austria)

Also known as Adnet Quarry XXX

Where: Austria (47.0° N, 13.0° E: paleocoordinates 32.2° N, 17.2° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Angulaticeras marmoreum zone, Guggen Member (Schnoll Formation), Middle Hettangian to Middle Hettangian (201.3 - 196.5 Ma)

• A thin layer of red (so-called Enzesfeld) limestone overlains the Rhaetian limestones and is capped by ferromanganeous Marmorea Crust

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: deep subtidal ramp; lithified, condensed, ferruginous, shelly/skeletal packstone

• Sediment starvation may have been caused by current activity combined with strongly reduced input of carbonate mud due to the widespread drowning in the Middle Hettangian.
• Red condensed limestone with ammonites and brachiopods.

•Microfacies: echinoderm-foram biomicrite with gastropods. Intercalated hardgrounds may consist of brownish-yellow phosphatic sediment or of dark Fe/Mn oxides.

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: mold/impression, original calcite, replaced with calcite

Collection methods: mechanical,
