Also known as Kersadiou Formation trilobites, Rade de Brest, Massif Armoricain
Where: Alsace, France (48.3° N, 4.5° W: paleocoordinates 31.4° S, 21.1° E)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• local area-level geographic resolution
When: lower Polygnathus varcus conodont zone, Kersadiou Formation, Givetian (387.7 - 382.7 Ma)
• PJW: Originally given as Eifelian; however, Botquelen & Racheboeuf 2008 put Kersadiou in the lower Polygnathus varcus zone. They also indicate that the specific that generated the list is Kersadiou, so this is not a case where they go to Eifelian-aged rocks from this region (i.e., the underlying Quelern Formation). Kersadiou overlies the Quelern and underlies the Tibidy.
• formation-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: marine; cherty/siliceous shale
Size class: macrofossils
