Hajnacka I/3 (Pliocene of Slovakia)

Where: Slovakia (48.3° N, 19.8° E: paleocoordinates 48.2° N, 19.7° E)

When: Villanyian (3.2 - 2.6 Ma)

• Gauss epoch, Late Pliocene, MN16, Villanyian. There are two localities - Hajnacka I and II, one to the north and one to the south of Hajnacka village. This is the one to the south.

Environment/lithology: lacustrine

• 'The fossils are found in limnic basin fillings with pyroclastic intercalations (tuffs, tuffite, lapilli, agglomerates).' These layers of level I/3 were laid down during a period of heavy volcanic activity, and include agglomerates, Tuffites, layers of lapilli and volcanic bombs.
