Where: Nepal (29.5° N, 82.9° E: paleocoordinates 50.2° S, 61.8° E)
• coordinate estimated from map
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Pija Member (Senja Formation), Changhsingian (254.2 - 252.2 Ma)
• Correlation is difficult, but stratigraphic position and correlation of underlying Nangung Formation suggests a Changhsingian age. 5-15 cm thick. Krotovia arcuata Subzone.
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: marine; lithified, silty shale and lithified, yellow limestone
Size class: macrofossils
Preservation: cast, original calcite
Collection methods: Some collections were of individual specimens, others as large as possible under the circumstances, with a few localities represented by rock weighing more than 50 kg. Most collections were made from just over 50 measured sections, and are under good stratigraphic control.
