Environment/lithology: lagoonal or restricted shallow subtidal; lithified framestone

• The Tuwaiq Mt. Lst. of middle to late Callovian age; locally clayey at the base; this predominantly calcareous formation determines the characteristic relief of central Arabia (Jabal Tuwayq); it is a reef platform. The condensed layers at the base of T3 mark the maximum stages of the Jurassic transgression.
