Where: British Columbia, Canada (56.1° N, 123.1° W: paleocoordinates 33.1° N, 52.5° W)

• coordinate estimated from map

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Pardonet Formation, Lacian (221.5 - 215.6 Ma)

• Lower Norian; Sample 99BBR3 from Gibson&Edwards Unit 8, Zones: Quadrata (Conodont), Dawsoni (Ammonoid)

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: deep-water; lithified, silty, carbonaceous limestone and lithified, dolomitic, calcareous siltstone

• The Pardonet Formation was deposited in a deep water setting, likely on the distal slope or abyssal plain, well offshore of the west Pangea coastline.
• The Pardonet Formation (140m) consists of carbonaceous silty limestone, calcareous and dolomitic siltstone and shale, and densely packed bioclastic grainstone beds.
