Where: British Columbia, Canada (56.1° N, 123.1° W: paleocoordinates 34.2° N, 53.5° W)

• coordinate estimated from map

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Pardonet Formation, Alaunian (215.6 - 212.0 Ma)

• Middle Norian; Sample 82BBR9 from Gibson&Edwards Unit 13, Zones: Multidentata/Spiculata (Conodont), Rutherfordi (Ammonoid)

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: deep-water; lithified, silty, carbonaceous limestone and lithified, dolomitic, calcareous siltstone

• The Pardonet Formation was deposited in a deep water setting, likely on the distal slope or abyssal plain, well offshore of the west Pangea coastline.
• The Pardonet Formation (140m) consists of carbonaceous silty limestone, calcareous and dolomitic siltstone and shale, and densely packed bioclastic grainstone beds.
