Also known as Field No. 16, Bed 16

Where: Northwest Territories, Canada (67.9° N, 135.4° W)

• Paleocoordinates: 74.1° N, 39.8° W (Wright 2013)

• coordinate stated in text

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Lower Member (Mount Goodenough Formation), Barremian (129.4 - 125.0 Ma)

• 20 ft of shale, 118-127 ft above base of section; from Oxyteuthis cf. jasikowi biozone; classified as "lower member" of "upper shale-siltstone division" in Jeletzky (1958); reassigned to "Mount Goodenough Formation" following Fowler and Braun (1993). Both Jeletzky (1958) and Fowler and Braun (1993) assign this biozone to a Barremian age.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

• Boreal faunal province; inner-middle shelf depositional environment; accumulated during interval of regression and progradation
• Shale, blackish grey to dark grey, soft in places slightly silty; numerous concretions

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: concretion

Reposited in the GSC
