Where: Millard County, Utah (38.8° N, 113.5° W: paleocoordinates 5.1° S, 88.6° W)
• coordinate estimated from map
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Lava Dam Member (Notch Peak Formation), Millardan (497.0 - 485.4 Ma)
• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: Hintze et al. (1988) divided the Notch Peak Fm into the Hellnmaria, Red Tops, and Lava Dam members, in an upward sequence. THICKNESS: The Lava Dam Mbr has a thickness of 89.3 m (293 ft). AGE: No trilobites collections are documented from the lower part of the Lava Dam Mbr, but it belongs to the Cambrooistodus minutus Subzone of the Eoconodonus Zone, conodont zonation scheme, and the Saukiella serotina subzone of the Saukia Zone, trilobite zonation scheme. Popov et al. (2002) places the lower Lava Dam Mbr into the Sunwaptan stage of the Milardan Series, of the Upper Cambrian.
